🍅 September Harvest of the Month: NY Tomatoes! 🍅

This month, our cafeterias celebrated the flavor of fresh, local NY tomatoes! Many of the tomatoes were harvested by our very own students from the school garden! We featured them in:
-Red sauce on pasta & pizzas
-Pico de Gallo for nachos
-Salad bars on Taste it Tuesdays & NY Thursdays

Students also got to taste test heirloom varieties like Speckled Roman, Cherokee Purple, Brandywine, Pineapple, and Coeur de Boeuf across all grade levels. Every elementary student received a sample, and our upper elementary students voted for their favorite—the yellow and red Pineapple tomatoes were a clear winner! 🌟

We love connecting students to local food and hands-on tasting experiences, from garden to cafeteria, nothing beats the flavor of fresh, homegrown tomatoes! ❤️

Thank you all for a wonderful Homecoming/Spirit Week—it was amazing! A special shoutout to our Varsity Athletes who took the time to read to our Elementary students. The kids absolutely loved it, and it was a great example of Trojans supporting Trojans. 💙💛

Yesterday as part of our Homecoming celebration, our Varsity Student-Athletes put on their jerseys and read to our Elementary School students. The "big" kids and the "little" kids all enjoyed the afternoon. We will definitely be doing this more often. Thank you to Miss Schumacher, Mrs. Emery, Mrs.Stine, Mrs. Kozlowski and Mr. Pawlewicz for all of their help and thank you to our Varsity athletes.
Congratulations to Senior, Rachel Emery on being selected to the Section IV Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

Today, we’re proud to recognize Jesse Ayers, a senior on our football team!

It's been a big start to the week in Newfield Athletics. On Monday the Varsity Girls Soccer team won 7-0. They play again at home on Friday at 5:00 on Cancro Field. Last evening, the JV and Varsity Volleyball teams both won 3-0. Both teams return to Sue France Gymnasium tomorrow. JV at 5:00 and Varsity around 6:15 p.m. Our Cheer team will also be there on Thursday to cheer. Varsity Boys Soccer plays at Southern Cayuga at 11:00 a.m on Saturday. Varsity Football has a bye week. See you all tomorrow and Friday to support our teams at home. Homecoming begins Monday next week. There is a Booster Club Meeting at 4:30 today in the Elementary School Weaver Room. Come join the Booster Club party!! Go Trojans

Saturday at Noon the Varsity Football team takes on the Moravia Blue Devils for the reopening of Cancro Field and the new track and parking area. The weather is going to be perfect for High School Football to kickoff the 2025 season for both schools. Come check out the action and enjoy some snacks from our Booster Club. Go Trojans
This is the first game with the new parking area. Please only park in lined spots and do not park on the grass. When the lot is full we will close off the field level parking and have people park in the District lot down the hill. Thank you all for your understanding as we adjust to the new parking set up. Tonight in The Sue France Gymnasium, the Groton Redhawks come to town for an IAC Volleyball matchup with our Newfield Trojans. JV begins at 5:00 with Varsity to follow around 6:15. Go Trojans
Last night both the Varsity Girls Soccer team and Varsity Boys Soccer team were victorious!! The Boys next play at Newark Valley at 7:00 p.m. Friday and the girls host Newark Valley at 5:00 p.m. Monday on Cancro Field.

Make the trip to Moravia tonight for a full afternoon and evening of IAC Soccer as the Newfield Boys and Girls Varsity soccer teams travel to Moravia for two games. Boys at 4:30 with the girls game to follow at 7:00 p.m. under the lights!! Congratulations to our Volleyball team on their victory over Moravia last evening. On Saturday, the same schools match up in Newfield for football with a 12:00 p.m. kick off on Cancro Field!! Go Trojans
