The district would like to share additional context regarding recent changes to the Board of Education meeting schedule, including adjustments to meeting dates and times and the addition of a Special Board meeting.
Special Board Meeting – February 18, 2026
A Special Board of Education meeting has been scheduled for February 18, 2026. The sole purpose of this meeting is to approve the appointment of the district’s new Maintenance Supervisor.
This special meeting has been scheduled to allow the selected candidate to begin working prior to the next regularly scheduled Board meeting. No other business will be conducted at this meeting.
Change to February and March Meeting Dates
The regularly scheduled meetings originally planned for February 26 and March 12 have been consolidated and rescheduled to March 5.
This adjustment allows members of the Newfield Board of Education to attend a legislative event hosted by the Central New York School Boards Association. Participation in this event supports the Board’s continued engagement in legislative matters that impact our district and public education.
New Start Time for Regular Board Meetings
All regularly scheduled Board of Education meetings will now begin at 6:00 PM rather than 6:30 PM. This change reflects the current Board’s availability to begin meetings earlier and allows the Board to make better use of the evening hours.
