Weather Related Closings

As the days grow shorter and temperatures begin to drop, it’s clear that winter is on its way. While the season brings excitement for snow days, sledding, and holiday traditions, it also brings the potential for weather that can affect our school schedule.

At Newfield Central School District, we take the safety of our students, staff, and families very seriously. When winter weather arrives, our goal is always to make thoughtful, well-informed decisions that prioritize safety while minimizing disruption to learning. We work closely with the Transportation Department, local officials, and neighboring districts to assess road conditions before making any determination about delays or closures.

As we move into the heart of winter, this is a good time to review how the district will communicate updates and what families can expect when weather impacts the school day.

Safety Comes First

Our top priority is the safety of our students, staff, and families. We will always take the time necessary to ensure everyone arrives at school safely.

No parent or guardian should ever feel the need to drive in unsafe conditions to get their child to school. If weather conditions cause a delay in getting your student to school, please get in touch with your building office to inform us. Attendance will be adjusted on weather-affected days.
