Elementary Drop-Off

Dear Newfield Families,

To ensure the safety and efficiency of our students’ arrival and dismissal each day, Newfield CSD has updated our drop-off and pick-up procedures for the 2025 school year. We kindly ask families to review the following information so that together, we can create a smooth and safe process for everyone.

Morning Arrival

  • Car Drop-Off Lane Only: Families must use the car drop-off lane in the morning. For safety reasons, families are not permitted to park and walk students up to the building.

  • Passenger-Side Exit Only: Students must exit cars on the sidewalk (passenger) side of the car. Staff will be present to assist.

  • Arrival Support: Our dedicated team of teachers and staff will be stationed throughout the building to greet and guide students to their classrooms.

Afternoon Dismissal

  • Dismissal Time: Begins at 2:12 p.m. (Pre-K students may begin dismissing at 2:10 p.m.).

  • Bus Riders: Students will be escorted to buses by their homeroom teachers and checked off at the front sidewalk.

  • Car Riders (Gym Dismissal):

    • Students will gather by grade level in the gym. Siblings may sit together in line with the youngest sibling.

    • Staff will call students by name as families arrive.

    • Runners will escort students to their cars in the loop. Parents must remain in their vehicles while staff assist students.

  • Parent Walk-Up Pick-Up: Families choosing to walk up will enter the right-hand front door of the school. Staff will check IDs and confirm sign-outs before releasing students.

Important Notes

  • Morning Drop-Off: Only the car loop may be used. Families cannot park in front of the school and walk students to the building.

  • Afternoon Dismissal Options: Families may either use the car loop or the designated parent walk-up sign-out process.

  • Ride Changes: If there are any changes to your child’s normal dismissal routine, the individual picking up must park and come to the pick-up door.

  • ID Required: All individuals picking up students must have their photo ID ready for verification.

  • Safety First: Parents may not exit their vehicles in the car loop. Students will only enter/exit from the sidewalk side.

  • PreK–1st Grade Dismissal: Teachers will work with aides to develop routines for bringing car riders to the gym.

  • Grades 2–5 Dismissal: Teachers will drop students at the gym on their way to the bus line.

We appreciate your cooperation in following these procedures. By working together, we can ensure that dismissal and arrival remain safe, structured, and positive for all of our students.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community.

With appreciation,

Kim Stine
