All Children Can Learn!

Newfield Prekindergarten Program

Our Newfield Central School District is proud to offer Pre-Kindergarten to every four year old living within the district! Newfield is one of only a handful of New York State school districts that offer Pre-Kindergarten to all district children. Our Board of Education realizes the importance of providing a quality early education to every student. Research clearly states that children who participate in a high quality early education program have a higher incidence of school and career success.

If your child is four years old on or before December 1 they are eligible to participate in our Pre-Kindergarten Program free of charge. Click on the link to review our most frequently asked questions: Questions and Answers

For the 2016-17 School Year our Pre-Kindergarten Program operates Monday through Friday 7:40 am to 2:50 pm and follows the Elementary Calendar. for the most part. Wrap-around care is available before and after our Pre-Kindergarten school day.

Newfield is committed to providing a high quality learning experience for all our students. The district uses the Common Core Learning Standards to gauge our students' progress. The Common Core Standards offer our children greater opportunities and aligns our efforts within school to increase our academic rigor. We strive to help all children achieve success. Our Board of Education Goals and the Common Core Standards create clear expectations for our students in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening, language and mathematics.
