        Curriculum and Instruction Efforts

The Newfield Central School Distict is focused on the planning, delivery, assessment, and ongoing improvement of our curriculum and instructional programs. Our efforts are geared to creating and maintaining a school environment that is conducive to learning. The aim is to build a community of learners where all stakeholders are valued and encouraged to engage in the learning process.

Our Professional Development Committee, made up of teachers, staff and administration organized a Professional Development Plan that builds and supports that community of learners.

Professional Development Plan 2017-2019

In an effort to enhance our professional practice as teachers we utilize "A Framework for Teaching" developed by Charlotte Danielson that focuses on

  • Planning and Preparation
  • The Classroom Environment
  • Instruction
  • Professional Responsibilities

Each teacher is asked to reflect upon their professional practice and to rate their effectiveness specifically within the domains of Planning and Preparation and Professional Responsibilities.

If you have any comments, concerns or suggestions that could help us in this most important work of educating our children please feel to contact me directly.
