VACANCIES FOR 2015-16 SCHOOL YEAR

LIBRARY MEDIA SPECIALIST - Anticipated vacancy for a secondary Library Media Specialist.  Seeking dynamic NYS certified Library Media Specialist to inform, engage and inspire young minds in a small, rural school community.  Ideal candidate will bring a passion for education and student-centered attitude.  Former experience and dual certification is preferred.  Successful candidate will collaborate with Middle/High School educators to enrich lessons with technology or library resources, manage the Middle/High School collection and online resources, advocate and support library skills, and Common Core Standards.  Provide training and support to staff and students with technology.  Introduce and model new technology for staff.

SECONDARY MATH TEACHER - Seeking dynamic NYS certified secondary Math teacher to inform, engage, and inspire young minds in small rural school community. Ideal candidate will bring a passion for education and a student-centered attitude. Applicants should be committed to student growth and excellence. Former teaching experience and dual certification is preferred.


SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER (7-12 Certification) - Provide special education services to middle school classified students.  Services provided in Resource, Consultant and Co-Teaching models.  Teacher will be responsible for IEP development and implementation, progress reports, home-school communication and team collaboration.  Experiences in integrated co-teaching model and resource peferred.  Experience with LD, autism, IHI preferred.

CURRENT NON-TEACHING VACANCIES

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, LEVEL 3 - Anticipated vacancy to serve as receptionist and secretary for Middle School office.  Data entry for student information system and other school-related programs.  Seeking an enthusiastic, customer-service oriented professional for fast-paced school office.  Must have strong technical skills and appreciate interacting and supporting students, staff and families. This is a full time, 12-month position to work under the direct supervision of the Middle School Principal.  It is a competitive Civil Service position for which a current list does exist.  A Civil Service job description and other information are available upon request in the District Office. Please respond, in writing, to the District Office by June 29, 2015.

TEACHER AIDE(S) - There are currently six vacancies for part-time, permanent 10-month Teacher Aides to provide support services for special needs students in a variety of school settings. The individuals will need to be flexible and work cooperatively with classroom and special education teachers under the supervision of the Director of Special Programs.  Two of these positions will replace the hours previously worked by Rita Bentley and Elizabeth Gardner while four are new positions. SCHOOL MONITOR(S)There are currently two vacancies for School Monitor to supervise students during lunch and recess.  The person in this position will facilitate a positive climate by supporting social and emotional growth in young people.  Prior experience working with students is preferred. This as a labor class, part time 10-month position working under the direct supervision of the building principal. The position is anticipated to be five days per week, 4.25 hours per day.  A Civil Service job description is available upon request in the District Office. Please complete the Civil Service application on the Tompkins County Personnel website at https://www.tompkinscivilservice.org/civilservice/vacancies , and inform the District Office in writing that you have done so by June 1, 2015.

CLEANER - There is currently a vacancy for a 10-month Cleaner to work approximately 17.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday evenings.  Duties include cleaning classrooms, restrooms, offices and hallways (sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, etc.).  Cleaning experience preferred. This position will be under the direct supervision of the Facilities and Security Manager.  Please complete the Civil Service application via the Tompkins County Personnel website (https://www.tompkinscivilservice.org/civilservice/vacancies) and notify the District Office that you have done so by May 26, 2015.
