Newfield
Community
Located five miles south of Ithaca, NY (home
of Cornell University and Ithaca College), Newfield is a small town of
approximately 4900 residents. Many people who reside in Newfield work
in the nearby communities of Ithaca, Elmira or Binghamton, while enjoying
the beautiful scenery and rolling hills of Newfield. The Newfield Covered
Bridge (pictured here) is the oldest in daily use in New York State and
has recently been designated as a National Historic Site. Newfield residents
have all the benefits of the cultural and educational resources of Tompkins
County, while still maintaining one of the lowest tax rates in the area.
